Avianca has a quirky award chart with plenty of hacks, but my favorite easy hack is to tack an economy flight on to the end of a one way itinerary to make the whole thing price lower. (Thanks to TheSultan1) - American Express Offers has a new offer for a $300 statement credit after $2,000 spend through June 16.
Note that if you have to cancel one of these tickets because reasons, Virgin Atlantic can be hard to deal with and may require multiple phone calls to chase it down. – 400 miles for making a purchase with MileagePlusX
