{"id":4230,"date":"2022-04-08T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-04-08T10:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/milesearnandburn.com\/?p=4230"},"modified":"2023-04-18T11:47:30","modified_gmt":"2023-04-18T17:47:30","slug":"weekend-triple-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/milesearnandburn.com\/index.php\/2022\/04\/08\/weekend-triple-4\/","title":{"rendered":"Weekend Triple"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>First, a mini <a class=\"ek-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ventanabigsur.com\/\">Ventana Big Sur<\/a> (a Hyatt \/ Alila property) review:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Great food, especially when you consider that it\u2019s all included in the rack rate<\/li>\n<li>Excellent value at 30,000 Hyatt points a night (my booked rate)<\/li>\n<li>Probably a good value at 45,000 Hyatt points per night (current rate)<\/li>\n<li>It\u2019s not easy to get to (you\u2019ll likely spend more time driving than you spent flying to northern California)<\/li>\n<li>Three nights is about the perfect length<\/li>\n<li>I\u2019d give it four out of five stars, I may come back but it wouldn\u2019t be anytime soon<\/li>\n<li>And finally, it seems that most reviews and the <a class=\"ek-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ventanabigsur.com\/\">hotel\u2019s main web page<\/a> don\u2019t mention that the resort is partially \u201cclothing optional\u201d so do what you will with that info<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ok, with that out of the way, here are a few things to keep you occupied for the weekend:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Staples is going to have $5 off of the $6.95 activation fee for $200 Visa gift cards. If you wait a few weeks they\u2019ll probably bring back the fee free version so this is really only if your other spending avenues are dry. (Thanks to <a class=\"ek-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/churning\/comments\/ty8uah\/daily_discussion_thread_april_07_2022\/i3r1dre\/?utm_source=share&amp;utm_medium=ios_app&amp;utm_name=iossmf&amp;context=3\">kawnipi<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>I\u2019ve heard from multiple readers in Florida and Georgia that Publix has blocked Metabank Visa and Mastercard gift cards at their customer service desk in the same way that <a class=\"ek-link\" href=\"https:\/\/milesearnandburn.com\/index.php\/2021\/09\/13\/on-the-death-of-metabank-at-safeway\/\">Safeway did last year<\/a>.
