I hope you\u2019re taking advantage of it, I know I\u2019m excited to not step foot in a Kroger for the next 24 hours. In case that\u2019s not exciting enough, here are a couple of items that will hopefully make up for it:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong> <a class=\"ek-link\" href=\"https:\/\/milesearnandburn.com\/index.php\/2021\/09\/02\/transfer-bonuses-and-how-to-use-them\/\">American Express has a 15% transfer bonus to LifeMiles<\/a>, as I\u2019m sure you already knew. Well, <a class=\"ek-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/churning\/comments\/pivrdh\/daily_discussion_thread_september_06_2021\/\">LifeMiles also as its own 15% incoming transfer bonus<\/a> for Membership Rewards transfers until September 30, which gives you a total bonus of 32% (<em>EDIT<\/em>: Thanks to Vince for pointing out that a 15% bonus on a 15% bonus is effectively a 32% bonus, not a 30% bonus as previously written) . This is huge, it means:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First Class (Lufthansa) US-Europe or vice-versa for 66,000 Membership Rewards, no fuel surcharges<\/li>\n<li>Economy US-Africa or vice-versa for 31,000 Membership Rewards, no fuel surcharges<\/li>\n<li>Business Class US-Europe or vice-versa for 49,000 Membership Rewards, no fuel surcharges<\/li>\n<li>Economy continental US-Caribbean for 10,000 Membership Rewards, no fuel surcharges<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are other great redemptions too. You\u2019ve probably read on this site multiple times that one of Avianca LifeMiles\u2019 sweet-spots is its loose definition of a region. That US-Caribbean deal is a prime example. (Thanks to <a class=\"ek-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/churning\/comments\/pivrdh\/daily_discussion_thread_september_06_2021\/hbt2hhk\/?utm_source=reddit&amp;utm_medium=web2x&amp;context=3\">TheSultan1<\/a> for digging up the LifeMiles bonus link)<\/p>\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong> American Express Platinum card retention offers in September have finally caught up with the <a class=\"ek-link\" href=\"https:\/\/milesearnandburn.com\/index.php\/2021\/07\/07\/platinum-amex-a-haiku-review-for-you-also-how-i-feel\/\">new, increased annual fee<\/a>. There are reports of 60,000 Membership Rewards or $650 statement credits being offered. Whenever I call for a retention offer, I say something like: \u201cI\u2019m thinking of closing this card because its annual fee is huge.
