It\u2019s a boring card, and believe me I understand that sometimes it\u2019s hard to get excited about pure cash-back plays. <\/p>\n<p>That said, you\u2019ve been able to do better than 5% cash back since <a class=\"ek-link\" href=\"https:\/\/slickdeals.net\/f\/11774859-nike-25-gift-card-discount-discover-cardholders-redeem-15-cashback-for-20-nike-gift-card\">July 2019<\/a> with the IT card. How? Discover gives you a 25% uplift when redeeming for Nike gift cards, and small (&lt; $100) Nike gift cards have a high resale value at approximately 91% of face value. The math:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-ek-indent\" style=\"--ek-indent:20px\"><code>5% * 125% * 91% = 5.687%<\/code><\/p>\n<p>America loves math, right? Don\u2019t stress it too hard, but remember that the Discover IT card is really a ~5.7% cash back card in rotating categories with the Nike uplift.
