{"id":205,"date":"2021-05-05T05:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-05-05T11:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/milesearnandburn.com\/?p=205"},"modified":"2023-04-18T14:33:24","modified_gmt":"2023-04-18T20:33:24","slug":"debbit-redux","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/milesearnandburn.com\/index.php\/2021\/05\/05\/debbit-redux\/","title":{"rendered":"Debbit Redux"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019ve already mentioned <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/jakehilborn\/debbit\">Debbit<\/a> <a class=\"ek-link\" href=\"https:\/\/milesearnandburn.com\/index.php\/2020\/12\/03\/automating-spend\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a time or two<\/a>, but there\u2019s a neat hack that it helps enable: Some credit card issuers will give you a monthly small balance waiver for balances under a buck or two, and often those issuers correspond with credit cards that you keep in your sock drawer anyway (Barclays, Discover, USAA, and US Bank are examples).<\/p>\n<p>For those sock drawer cards, I suggest set up a recurring small charge in Debbit once a month as an Amazon balance reload, Xfinity bill payment, AT&amp;T bill payment, or similar and you\u2019ll earn a free $10-$20 \/ year for each card. You\u2019ll also prevent them from being closed for non-use, which does happen.<\/p>\n<p>Will you get rich like this? No, but at the end of the year you can buy a $10 Chipotle card with your Amazon balance. Is it worth your time? Maybe not just by itself, but multiplied by a few cards and convolved with having debbit set up for <a class=\"ek-link\" href=\"https:\/\/milesearnandburn.com\/index.php\/2021\/01\/12\/sofi-and-debbit\/\">bonuses<\/a>, it will pay off in due time.
