It\u2019s elevated and fine on the face of it, but nothing to go bananas over so don\u2019t needlessly get sucked in to the hype machine. If you\u2019re going to go for it though, don\u2019t forget that you can get multiple ThankYou Point card sign up bonuses back-to-back even though it seems like you can\u2019t on the face of it. The <a class=\"ek-link\" href=\"https:\/\/citicards.citi.com\/usc\/LPACA\/Citi\/Rewards\/Premier\/legal\/index.html?BT_TX=1&amp;ProspectID=AE458F268DC645C2AA76FD625E34565E\">Citi Terms and Conditions<\/a> are tricky, but the following points are relevant:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You aren\u2019t eligible for the bonus if you\u2019ve received a bonus in the last 24 months<\/li>\n<li>You aren\u2019t eligible for the bonus if you\u2019ve closed a ThankYou Points card in the last 24 months<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Do you see the wiggle room between those two bullets? It\u2019s there, and it works. The trick is that you can apply for multiple Citi cards, (the Premier and the Prestige, for example), just don\u2019t hit the spend threshold for the bonus points on any of the cards until after you\u2019ve been approved for all of them. Then, you can hit the spend threshold on each and get the bonus on each.<\/p>\n<p>Side note: Astute readers will note that I mentioned the Citi Prestige, which is apparently discontinued for new account holders. But, don\u2019t believe everything you\u2019ve read on the internet, you can still apply for it through <a class=\"ek-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.citicards.com\/cards\/credit\/application\/flow.action?app=UNSOL&amp;HKOP=cd9c08ac79d7f060991e3050d3f05c03da203514a7171525d403ff8bd1a617a4&amp;ID=3131&amp;ProspectID=\">a Zombie link!<\/a> (Thanks to <a class=\"ek-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.doctorofcredit.com\/citi-prestige-card-no-longer-showing-on-citi-website-probably-nothing\/#comment-1216143\">David<\/a> for the link.)<\/p>\n<p>So, if you\u2019re eligible and you think the deal is good at 80,000 points, why not shoot for 210,000 points for two Premiers and a Prestige? Or if you\u2019re gutsy, 260,000 points for two Premiers or two Prestiges? Or some other combo, potentially including <a class=\"ek-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.citi.com\/credit-cards\/citi-att-access-credit-card\">other<\/a> <a class=\"ek-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.citi.com\/credit-cards\/citi-rewards-plus-credit-card\">cards<\/a>? Just keep in mind that Citi will auto-deny your application if you have more than one approval every eight days, but there\u2019s always reconsideration (or, just wait eight days between applications).
