Chase 5\/24. Amex pop up jail. Don\u2019t cycle Citi. Don\u2019t cycle Synchrony<a href=\"#dont-cycle\">*<\/a>, etc. etc. etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A lot of this collective knowledge is sourced from smart folks that were willing to be the guinea pigs and push limits to understand exactly what those limits are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But in the spirit of probing, you shouldn\u2019t consider any of these rules as completely impossible to circumvent. I once cycled a Citi Double Cash 9 times back when I didn\u2019t know it was an issue, and a large Citi balance was a prerequisite for a long, tedious afternoon of liquidation. I\u2019m still alive years later, continued shenanigans and all.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, I\u2019m not saying to go throw in an application for the absolutely incredible Chase Sapphire Reserve Business\u2122<strong>\u00ae <\/strong>if you\u2019re way over 5\/24, because it will be a waste of a hard pull. I\u2019m just saying that historically, there\u2019s been ways to get around these obstacles.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com\/docsz\/AD_4nXebs154SqTBQ84VUwqQR7dS9QAi4iZBkOsUfU5ApwNrejCTnpBlKdNpC2PWAJ8DmtFwBngWqs2VVd0R_nUt0FcBhuT6uebb6kwQzvB0gzf1j7hxJirGcukwTQbE4V9U3piXxEwmcw?key=ab3VHYy43LseKZ4Sh6OxWQ\" alt=\"\" style=\"width:420px\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\" style=\"font-size:14px\"><em><s>CoD streamers<\/s><\/em><em> credit card bloggers ready to share the incredible CSR Biz news<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some common \u201crules\u201d I\u2019ve seen over the years that I wouldn\u2019t hesitate to spend 5 seconds testing if I came across them:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>No business cards<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No Amex<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Debit cards only<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One deposit per day<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Max $ deposit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Best case scenario, the rule doesn\u2019t apply, and you make more money. Worst case scenario, the transaction doesn\u2019t go through, and you proceed with your day. Medium case scenario, the rule doesn\u2019t apply, but you get a terse email and need to get creative to keep your account open. <a href=\"https:\/\/milesearnandburn.com\/index.php\/2024\/06\/07\/weekend-wisdom-different-technologies-behave-differently-duh\/\">The underlying systems and platforms<\/a> that power our favorite banks, CUs and fintechs are just so finicky that you\u2019ll never know until you try.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While we\u2019re on the subject of things not being what they seem, here\u2019s some advice: In a lot of online communities, getting zero answers to a question you pose is likely a sign you asked a dumb question. But in this one, if your question is thoughtful and researched and nobody responds (or in my case, you are DMed to delete the question), you may be on to something.
